Combining elements of ska, metal, and jazz, Deadwatt is creating a unique sound in the Nashville scene. I brought in Les and Dylan from the band to talk about their group and ended up stumbling into an interesting conversation.
Without a guest this week, Joseph and Baylee expanded their “Album Of The Week” segment to include discussions about Bad Company, Paul McCartney & The Wings, and the influences of The Beatles on modern popular music. Baylee Kuss does a live performance of her original song “Sarah Marie” at the end of the episode.
I have been playing with Mary Clarke in The Verge since 2015 and finally got to sit down and talk about her musical influences, the effect of social media on politics, and the time she met Justin Bieber. The song at the end of this episode is “Seasonal Affective” by Everyone Leaves, a great Ohio band.
Jakob Cruz, Zach Cardenas, and Anthony De La Rosa make up The Melting Suns. Based out of southern California and Nashville, the group plays a combination of heavy electric blues and classic hard rock. I was able to catch up with them this week in Nashville to talk about their 2015 EP “Black” and the group’s future endeavors.
